Special Events at Old School Square Cultural Arts Center, Delray Beach, FloridaA variety of special events and festivals take place at Old School Square throughout the year. Some are presented by Old School Square, the Cornell Museum or Crest Theatre. Others are presented by local/regional organizations.
October 2, 2010 - Stitch Rock, an Indie Craft Fair & Bazaar
Saturday, noon-6 pm; OSS Vintage Gymnasium; $5 admission, children 12 and under free with paid adult. Old school crafting techniques with new school flare! Handmade crafts and unique products like D.I.Y. Fashion, funky home decor items, natural bath and body goodies, vintage finds, hot rod paintings, pin-up photography and much more! Free swag bag for the first 100 people; outside vendor tent, more room inside; door prizes, food, cupcakes and drinks; D.I.Y. Fashion show at 3 pm. For more information, call 561-635-8086.
October 14, 2010 - Opening Reception for "The Cat's Meow" Exhibition
Thursday, 5:30-7:00 pm, Cornell Museum of Art & American Culture. Meet our featured artists and lots of local cat owners! We hope to have a couple of local celebrity cats, so please leave your cats at home!
October 24, 2010 - The Cat & the Fiddle Family Day and Youth Orchestra Ghouls & Goblins Concert
Sunday, Cornell Museum and OSS Entertainment Pavilion. Family Day: 2-6 pm, $5 family admission; includes crafts and other activities in conjunction with The Cat's Meow exhibit. Outdoor concert: 6-8 pm, free admission, performed by the Youth Orchestra of Palm Beach County. Food and beverage available.
October 29-31, 2010 - Orchids on the Square
Friday-Sunday, 10 am-5 pm; OSS Vintage Gymnasium; $5 admission. The Delray Beach Orchid Society presents their annual show and sale featuring orchid vendors, potting supplies, dazzling orchid displays and raffle prizes. For information, call 561-573-2422.
